Implementing “Yuva English” through NGOs
CLR has conducted Instructors’ Training for approximately 50 NGOs in Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Delhi who accessed the “Yuva English” materials to offer the course as part of their educational activities for out-of-school youth. Evaluation of learners’ outcomes was undertaken.
Evaluation of Impact
A formal evaluation (Pre-test and Post-Test) of 1000 youth from 26 NGOs who completed the course indicated that:
- learners had gained a significantly higher level of confidence in expressing themselves in English.
- not only did listening and speaking skills improve considerably, but so did their reading and writing abilities – an indirect benefit of the course.
